Privacy and Cookies

Privacy policy

We are required by law to tell you what information we hold about you at Thai Children's Trust, and what we use it for.  You are at liberty to object to the data we hold or the use to which it is put.  In fact we hold only what is essential to keep you informed about the Trust and the work we support in Thailand, so if you are considering objecting please read this very carefully first, especially the part which tells you what we do not do with information about you.

This is the information we keep:

  • Your name and address.
  • Your e-mail, if you have told us.
  • Your telephone number, if you have told us.
  • Details of any donations you have made (date, amount, appeal code). We have a legal responsibility to keep track of these details.
  • A note of whether or not you have visited Thailand, if you have told us.
  • A note of whether you pay UK income tax, again if you have told us.  This is used to prevent our repeatedly sending you requests for Gift Aid form if you are not eligible to complete them.
  • Details of any covenants or Gift Aid Certificates you have given, past or present
  • Details of any Sponsorship, past or present.
  • If you are a sponsor we may have your date of birth, if you have told us.
  • Details of any Videos you have received.
  • A note of whether you have indicated that you have remembered the Thai Children's Trust in your will.

This is the minimum necessary for us to meet our legal requirements, and to keep in touch with you.  It also helps prevent our continuing to bother you by offering you things you have already refused, or by asking you to do things that either you have done, or that you do not wish to do.

The only outside bodies who might receive some information from us would be agents such as printers and the mailing service who pack and send out our newsletters.  These agents have a legal responsibility to use our information only for the purpose for which we supply it. They may not use it to contact you on their own behalf or on behalf of other organisations.

Use of Cookies on our website
Google Analytics keeps broad statistical data about numbers of visitors to our website, where they came from, which pages they visit, and from which page they leave.  It does not record any personal information or identify individual users.
Users with a website account can avoid having to log in on each visit by using the 'Remember Me' service which places a recognition cookie on your computer.  No information is collected or transmitted other than the information used to recognise and admit the user.

The Thai Children's Trust does not trade names with other organisations, ‘list swap’ or rent out our supporters’ list.
