Childhood is a progress towards an independent life. Each achievement – learning to walk, or read, or tell the time – is a marker along that way. Progress can be tough for any child born with a disability. The Pattaya School for Blind Children prepares blind and visually impaired Thai children as they strive to achieve their full potential.  

 

This gift will provide swimming lessons for for the whole school for a week. Can you imagine the courage required to get into the water and swim when you cannot see the length of the pool or its depth? Some children have to find this courage every day just to get out of bed and find their way around a world they cannot see. Swimming lessons help build the confidence they so desperately need.
